While gay marriage is quickly becoming part of our culture, there are still bans in many states. While the support in the fight for equality will hopefully eventually win this freedom for all gay people, for now the gay community is trying vehemently to keep the cause alive. Every time a gay marriage referendum is turned down in another state, it is a step back. Every time a gay marriage law is overturned it almost seems criminal.
